From 25th to 27th August 2023, the top European competitors in the world’s fastest motorsport will meet up where speed is at home – at the NitrOlympX at the Hockenheimring. As part of this year’s FIA and FIM Drag Racing European Championship rounds, the giants of motorsport will once again make the Rico Anthes Quartermile of the traditional Baden circuit shake for three days. Since 1986, the event has offered an explosive mix of professional motorsport and show. The NitrOlympX have developed into one of the largest and best-known drag racing events outside the USA and celebrated a brilliant comeback in front of 45,000 fans last year after a two-year break due to corona.
Around 250 teams from all over Europe will be lining up at the starting line at the Hockenheim Motodrom on the last weekend in August. For the FIA and FIM classes, Hockenheim is the fourth of a total of five stops on the way to the 2023 European Championship title.
In addition to the crowd favorites Top Fuel and Top Methanol, the FIA car classes also include Pro Modified and Pro Stock with strong fields. In the motorcycle category, the professional classes Top Fuel Bike, Super Twin Bike, Pro Stock Bike, Super Street Bike and Junior Drag Bike will be competing for FIM championship points.
The so-called Sportsman classes will also be really wild again. Here you will find a wide variety of vehicles that not only have showpieces to offer, but also shine with sophisticated technology. With Competition Cars, Super Pro ET, Super Comp, Super Gas, Pro ET or Junior Dragster, the range is huge. This year there will also be a top-class premiere: for the first time, the new “Extreme Outlaw Challenge” will be included in the NitrOlympX track program. This group of experienced drag racers forms a new racing class built according to DMSB regulations for vehicles equipped with turbochargers, ProChargers or superchargers.
The Sportsman classes in the Motorcycle category are no less motivated: the participants in the Funny Bike, Super Twin Top Gas, Super Comp and ET Bike classes will get the absolute last out of their machines in order to win for once in front of the packed grandstands of the Rico Anthes Quartermile.
In addition to the exciting duels with top speeds of over 500 km/h in some cases, the NitrOlympX are characterized by the freely accessible paddock, a varied supporting program and the popular night show on Saturday evening. Here, a breathtaking mix of grandiose entertainment with lots of action and speed is offered. For those who want to continue partying afterwards, the live performance of the rock cover band “Dougie & The Blind Brothers” in the paddock will provide an exuberant party atmosphere.
Tickets
Friday tickets are available from 29.00 euros and a weekend ticket for three days of action costs from 75.00 euros. All tickets include access to the paddock and are available from the Hockenheimring ticket hotline +49 (0)6205 950 222 or from the online ticket store. Fans can get that special adrenaline kick right on the starting line with a hot seat ticket. And for the first time, campers will have the opportunity to spend the night directly in the paddock.
