ACCELERATION IN PERFECTION

The NitrOlympX 2024 has set new benchmarks and spectacular track records – and it has also set a real milestone! Ticket sales for the three-day drag racing spectacle at the Hockenheimring exceeded all expectations: More than 45,000 fans stormed the legendary Rico Anthes Quartermile in August. In 22 professional and amateur classes, the engines roared, the tires smoked – and valuable championship points were at stake. True adrenaline fireworks!

TOP SPORTING PERFORMANCE AND SCARY MOMENTS

The final Sunday was a day of records! In the FIA Pro Modified class, Dutchman David Vegter delivered a brilliant performance as championship leader and set a new personal best time of 5.792 seconds – and thus a new track record. However, victory in this class went to Andres Arnover from Estonia. There was a scary moment on Saturday when Frenchman Jean Dulamon crashed his Pro Mod. Luckily, he was able to leave the hospital quickly after an examination and was celebrated enthusiastically by the fans the next day.

TWO WHEELS, PURE POWER

The bikes were also on fire! Swede Rikard Gustafsson, one of the fastest TFB riders in the world, set an incredible time of 5.817 seconds in the FIM Europe Top Fuel Bike class, beating Britain’s Stuart Crane.

But there was drama in the final: his bike rolled over the start line too early – disqualification! Mark Smith from Great Britain took the opportunity and won the title in this class. Markus Laur from Germany provided a historic moment: he was the first German Funny Bike rider to break the magical seven-second barrier with a time of 6.967 seconds – a milestone that secured him the right to compete in the FIM Europe Top Fuel Bike class.

Jörg Lymant triumphed in the Pro Stock class, setting the foundation for his historic title win in the FIM European Dragbike Championship at the end of the season – the first German ever to do so. The drag bike rider dominated the technically demanding category and impressively underlined his claim to the championship title with his victory on the Quartermile.

JNDIA ON THE WAY TO THE CROWN

And then there was crowd favorite Jndia Erbacher from Switzerland. She crowned her impressive season with a victory in the premier class FIA Top Fuel – 4.084 seconds in a solo run! She had already delivered an incredible performance in the semi-final with 4.000 seconds and a breathtaking 500.25 km/h, leaving championship leader Duncan Micallef behind. This victory put her within striking distance of the championship title, at least mathematically.
championship title. At the extremely exciting final weekend in Santa Pod, Jndia Erbacher then achieved the almost impossible: With a lead of just four points she won her first FIA European Championship ahead of Micallef.

LIVE BOXING AND NIGHT SHOW DIRECTLY AT THE QUARTERMILE

The NitrOlympX 2024 also provided a spectacle away from the drag strip. On Saturday evening, the Quartermile was transformed into a boxing arena: Melina Maibaum from Karlsruhe clearly triumphed over her opponent Kerstin Wiedermann in the WBC International Super Bantamweight title fight. It was over in round five – technical knockout, first title for Maibaum!

But the evening was far from over. The legendary NitrOlympX Nightshow thrilled the fans once again. Two hours of pure action: flame-spitting jet dragsters, slingshots, breathtaking stunts and a spectacular laser show provided goosebump moments. Motorsport and entertainment merged to create an unforgettable experience that once again confirmed the Rico Anthes Quartermile as Europe’s ultimate drag racing arena. Anyone looking for a weekend full of records, thrills and emotions should not miss the next NitrOlympX at the end of August 2025.
